Barcelona has some of the best restaurants & cafes in Europe.  You can get food from any part of the world.  But make sure you taste some of the fantastic local Catalan cuisine!  There are large cafes that line the Passeig de Gràcia and the Rambla de Catalunya, just north of the Plaça de Catalunya.  The bigger restaurants have non-smoking areas (in most of the smaller places smoking is permitted).  For budget eating you may choose small bars - 9-11€ per person.  But sometimes people there are mainly Spanish-only speaking and menu is also in Spanish.

Barcelona has several bars and clubs including La Paloma and Catwalk, very popular night clubs and the Sidecar Factory Club, the venue with most concerts in town.
